Why the Directory Exists
A property owner, a deed party, and a current occupant are not the same thing, and no one Doña Ana County office holds every kind of record. The Doña Ana County Assessor property/GIS data identify parcel and assessment fields. The Doña Ana County Clerk Recorded Documents Public Search is the local route for deeds and other recorded instruments. Court summaries, historical collections, and vital-record requests follow separate paths. This private directory gathers those entry points, contact details, and access limits in one localized reference.
What the Local Reference Includes
Each route is organized around the kind of information a researcher already has, such as an address, a name, or an earlier household record.
- Search paths by purpose: the street directory for address-based sources, the Directory Book for historical collections, and the resident lookup for checking one person through official sources
- Named custodians: the Assessor, County Clerk, elections office, court clerk, New Mexico vital-records program, libraries, and archives
- Practical research steps: methods for moving from a parcel to a deed, reading a directory entry, or comparing household evidence over time
- Access boundaries: the difference between an available index, a restricted record, and an Inspection of Public Records Act request to the relevant custodian. Birth and death certificates follow the Vital Statistics Act, NMSA 1978 §§ 24-14-1 through 24-14-31, and 7.2.2 NMAC rather than a general county-records search.
Limits of This Private Reference
This independently operated site is not a Doña Ana County department, New Mexico agency, court, library, or records custodian. The offices that hold a record remain responsible for access, certification, corrections, and current status. That leaves several things outside our role:
- We cannot verify that a particular person currently lives in Doña Ana County
- We cannot obtain, certify, alter, or correct a government record for a visitor
- We cannot place someone on, or remove someone from, an official roll or database
- We do not provide legal advice about a record, a court case, or a dispute
- We cannot guarantee that a portal, coverage period, fee, or office detail has not changed
Only a custodian can confirm or certify its record. This private reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq., and may not be used for FCRA-regulated decisions.
